Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes also known as The Presets present their new album Hi Viz that is set to release on May 18th via Casablanca Records. Hi Viz is a representation of both Julian and Kim’s talents since they both intertwined their production skills into it.
Born in 2003, the duo began by leaving imprints in Sydney’s nightclubs and later signing onto the famed Australian music label Modular Records. In 2008, things begin to escalate soon after The Presets released their second album Apocalypso with breakthrough tracks like ”My People,” ”Talk Like That,” and “This Boys In Love.” Apocalypso debuted winning six awards at ARIA Awards including Album of the Year and number one on the ARIA Albums Chart.

The Presets have already given us a sneak peek into what Hi Viz will convey. Featured in Triple J’s Hottest 100 songs in 2017, “Do What You Want” was the first to drop as a teaser. Second release sweeping in is “14U+14ME” that also became one of the most played tracks in 2018.

The Presets both took a part in producing Hi Viz alongside with fellow collaborators to make the masterpiece. The album features indie rockers the DMA’s with ”Are You Here” co-produced by Kim and vocals from Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters for ”Tools Down.” Most of the album was mixed by John Hanes who created the classic mix of Uptown Funk as well as working more recently with the likes of Sia, Bruno Mars, and Major Lazer. Apocalypso collaborator Scott Horscroft also mixed several Hi Viz tracks while Flume engineer Eric J mixed Beethoven – the pair’s sly nod to their Conservatorium years.
